What to expect

  1. Tell us what’s happened

Call or WhatsApp us with a short summary and your current vet’s details. With your permission, we’ll ask them for your pet’s records.

  2. Bring what you have

Bring any test results, quotes or medicines you’ve been given. It helps to jot down the main dates and what you’ve been told.

  3. Examination and review

The vet examines your pet, goes through the history and explains what they think is going on.

  4. Honest options

We’ll talk you through the choices and what each one costs. If we agree with your first vet, we’ll tell you that too.

From our clients

“We were told euthanasia was the kindest option for our dog Dolly. Animal Angels gave her hope, performed surgery immediately, and saved her life. She is now home, comfortable, and happy. From reception to the vet team, you truly are angels. Thank you for giving our girl a new lease on life.”

“Ten out of ten. From a very stressful week to total relief — you calmed, treated, and fixed our Floki when our previous vets failed. Thank you so much.”

“Other vets had given us no hope for our elderly cat, but your incredible team gave him a chance. We cannot thank you enough — truly amazing people.”

Questions

How much does a second opinion cost?

A second opinion is a standard consultation, which is £40. If your pet needs tests or treatment, we’ll tell you the cost before anything goes ahead.

Do I have to tell my current vet?

With your permission, we’ll ask your current vet for your pet’s records. This is normal practice in the UK and means we can see what has already been done.

Will I have to move my pet to you?

No. You can get a second opinion and still stay with your current vet. Where your pet is treated is your choice.

My vet said euthanasia is the kindest option. Should I get a second opinion?

If you’re unsure, it’s reasonable to ask. Sometimes there are options that haven’t been tried. Sometimes a second vet will agree that it’s time, and if we think so, we’ll tell you honestly.

I’ve been given a quote I can’t afford. Can you help?

Our prices are published online, so you can compare. Bring the quote with you and we’ll tell you whether the treatment, or a different approach, is possible here and what it would cost. If you genuinely can’t afford it, talk to us: we have a fund that may be able to help.
